How to add an extra page

—-

New pages can be added to any existing page by editing the existing page and adding a link . The link must have the name of the new page and (usually) test to describe the page.

The simplest addition will store the new page in the “pages” part of the archive. To add a new page, type the name of the new page between double square brackets and add some display text if needed. Note that the capitalization of the name is not important. Locally the wiki stores everything as lowercase. You can follow either of these examples to the same page: Link using lower case and link in upper case.

If the page does not exist, it will be shown in RED, and clicking on it will open the page so you can edit it and save it.

Sometimes it may be useful to add a new subdirectory in the filing system to keep things “tidy”. The wiki calls the pages the NAMESPACE and to create the equivalent of a subdirectory (a “subnamespace”) ,we have to prepend them to your filename separated by colons after you selected the files. or in simpler language, use a “:” in the page name, with the upper level first.. If you view the Link Wizard, you will see that the addpage, newuser, video are all stored in subdirectory called instructions. This makes it easier to navigate in future.

I will demonstrate by adding a newpagereference links: some display text
